The Problem That Started It All
It was 2 AM. I had 47 tabs open—research papers, Stack Overflow threads, documentation, and that one Reddit post with the solution I'd been looking for all day. Then Chrome crashed.
Everything. Gone.
Chrome's "restore tabs" feature recovered maybe half of them. The important ones? Lost forever. That was the moment I decided: this problem needs a smart, simple solution.
"I don't build software to be complex. I build it to solve real problems, elegantly."
Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Kamil. I'm a developer with over 10 years of experience building web applications, browser extensions, and tools that make developers' lives easier. But more importantly, I'm someone who believes in the philosophy of small and smart.
I've worked on enterprise systems with millions of lines of code. I've seen bloated software that tries to do everything and ends up doing nothing well. That's not what I build.
I build tools that do one thing exceptionally well. TabStash isn't trying to be your entire productivity suite—it's focused on solving one problem: never losing your tabs again.
Why TabStash is Different
Most browser extensions are either abandoned side projects or corporate tools packed with features you'll never use. TabStash is neither.
It's a passion project built by someone who actually uses it every single day. Every feature exists because it solved a real problem I faced. There's no marketing team adding features to hit quarterly goals. There's just me, solving problems the right way.
Small & Fast
No bloat. No unnecessary features. Just the essentials, optimized for performance. TabStash loads in milliseconds, not seconds.
Smart Solutions
Auto-snapshots every 5 minutes. AI-powered search. Smart deduplication. Features that work in the background so you don't have to think about them.
Privacy First
Your data is yours. Local-first storage. Optional cloud sync. No tracking. No selling your data. Period.
Built to Last
This isn't a side project I'll abandon next month. I use TabStash daily, which means it will be maintained and improved for years to come.
The Journey
The Problem (2 AM, After the Crash)
Realized existing tab managers don't handle crashes. Started sketching solutions on paper.
The Research
Analyzed OneTab, Session Buddy, and other competitors. Found gaps: no auto-snapshots, no crash recovery, clunky UIs.
The Prototype
Built first version with just the core: auto-save tabs on close, searchable timeline. Used it daily for 3 months.
The Innovation
Added the killer feature: auto-snapshots every 5 minutes. Tested by deliberately crashing Chrome. It worked perfectly.
The Polish
Added AI search, cloud sync, multiple export formats. Refined the UI. Optimized performance. Made it production-ready.
Today
TabStash is live, helping developers, researchers, and power users never lose their tabs again.
What's Next?
TabStash is just getting started. I have a roadmap of smart features planned—but I'll only add them if they're truly useful and align with the philosophy of small and smart.
Here's what I'm working on:
- AI Auto-Grouping – Automatically organize tabs into projects and topics
- Session Health Monitoring – Detect and warn about dying sessions before they crash
- Import from Competitors – Seamless migration from OneTab, Session Buddy, and others
- Projects & Rules Engine – Advanced organization for power users
But these will only ship when they're ready, tested, and truly valuable. No rushing. No compromises.
